Sundays In The Redwoods Outdoor Concert Series

Spend four unique Sunday afternoons enjoying diverse music under Oakland's enchanting redwoods trees at Joaquin Miller Park! Join us at the Woodminster Amphitheater for our third year of free outdoor concerts presented by the Office of Parks and Recreation and Councilmember Jean Quan!

2007 Sundays In The Redwoods Lineup:
September 23 - "Classical Music" featuring the Oakland East Bay Symphony; conducted by Michael Morgan and featuring three outstanding winners from the Symphony’s Young Artists Competition - soloists Mindy Chen (age 11), Andrew Hsu (age 13) and Carl Stanley (age 20).

September 30 - "World Music Fest" featuring Rebeca Mauleon y Descarga en California with special guest Orestes Vilato; Bobi Cespedes y su grupo; Osamu Cuban Rock All-Stars; and the John Santos Quintet.

October 7 - "Gospel: A Joyful Noise" featuring the Allen Temple Baptist Church Men's Choir; KC and Company; and Sunny Hawkins.

October 14 - "The Jazz & Neo-Soul Experience" featuring the Mark Wright Sextet; Trace Ellington; and Grammy award nominated neo-soul artist - and Bay Area's own - Goapele.

Concerts are free of charge. Doors open at 2pm; performances begin at 3pm.
