Samuel Merritt College in Oakland is looking for children with learning disabilities and other difficulties to participate in a free occupational therapy clinic.

The 10-week clinic in downtown Oakland is designed for children whose parents cannot afford private therapy sessions. Children with learning disabilities, sensory integration dys functions and handwriting difficulties are invited to participate.

The college's occupational therapy students will work with the children, under guidance of faculty, and will provide assessments, treatment plans, one-hour therapy sessions and referrals to community services.

The clinic begins Sept. 27 and meets Monday afternoons at the college's occupational therapy clinic, 450 30th St., Oakland.
