City of Oakland Hiring Recreation Coaches - Positions Available

The City of Oakland's Office of Parks and Recreation is now hiring coaches to work in after school programs at Elementary and Middle School levels. Coaches must be able to work from 2:30 until 6:00pm, Monday through Friday and attend Saturday sporting events and games. Coaches will be responsible for training participants in Flag Football, Basketball, Track & Field and Softball. Responsibilities include:
  • Recruiting and registering participants for school-site after school sports leagues
  • Conducting positive sports practices
  • Connecting principals, participants, parents, and other after school service providers
  • Keeping track of attendance for each session
  • Ensuring the safety and well being of each participant
  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 2-4 DAYS PER WEEK MON.- FRI.2:30 - 6 p.m.

Salary range: $11.57 - $14.23/hour

Recreation Coaches will be hired as RECREATION LEADER I part-time (elementary) or RECREATION LEADER II part-time (middle school).
