Lifeguard Training Courses Thursday, January 01, 2004 American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Oakland ~ The City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation (OPR), Aquatics Unit is proud to offer American Red Cross lifeguard training courses in March 22 through May 22, 2004. The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course is to teach lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. This program includes lifeguard training courses with aquatic-specific first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training. 15 years old (by completion date) 500 yards of continuous swimming in prescribe order 10 pound object recovery in 7 ~ 10 feet of water Register online or please return OPR Registration form to:
