Bicycle Safety at Tassafaronga
The City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation, Earn Your Bike Program has created an innovative Children's Bicycle Safety Program designed exclusively for children who are Oakland residents. This program offers children an opportunity to learn the importance and benefits of using safety equipment while enjoying recreational activities such as bycicling.

The Earn Your Bike Program (EYBP) is committed to enhancing the lives of youth, families and the Oakland community, through education in bicycle safety awareness, and accident prevention through the comprehensive rules of the road and a safety simulator. EYBP is dedicated to providing opportunities that benefit and enrich the lives of Oakland youth in cycling education, health and preventative measures to staying safe while recreating, and cultural enrichment.

This program has been taking place at Tassafaronga Recreation Center beginning on January 20 and will continue through February 19, 2004.

For additional information or to find out how you can participate in future programs, please contact the Earn Your Bike Program Director Marcelina Sanchez at (510) 238-3791.
