Two historical sites in Oakland, the Cleveland Cascade and Fox Theatre, were awarded a share of a $1 million pot as part of a preservation grant competition among 25 Bay Area sites. The Cleveland Cascade won $50,000, earning the prize after coming in 12th place in a six-week, online competition that asked Web visitors to vote for their favorite Bay Area historical site
Youth band to present winter concert

The main recirculation pump for the pool is broken. We are removing and replacing the pump as quickly as possible. This process should take 3-4 days at the most, but requires the pump to be sent out for repairs. An alternate swimming location is Temescal Pool, at 371 45th St
