The following boats are docked at the Lake Merritt Boating Center located on Lake Merritt, inside Lakeside Park. Enjoy a day outdoors on the Lake. For pedalboat, canoe, row boat, and kayak rentals, no certification is required. In order to sail on this beautiful scenic Lake, you will need to provide sailing certifications, pass a sailing test, or take a class with us. Advanced Sailboats require check-out certification.

$2.00 Day Permit: to use your own boat or small vessel in Lake Merritt, absolutely no motor boats or motorized vessels allowed.
Note: Sailboats rented to experienced sailors only and must be rented ½ hour before the last rental time and return to the dock ½ hour before closing.

*Time indicates when the last (non-sailboat) rental leaves dock. Sailboats are rented to experienced sailors only and must be rented ½ hour before the last rental time and return to the dock ½ hour before closing.

- Summer Sailstice (Saturday June 20th) - Open Late. Free boat rentals 5-7:30 pm (all boats off the water by 8pm)
- Splash Into Summer Open House (Saturday July 18th) - Free boat rentals 1-3 pm
