In conjunction with partners and sponsors, the City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation's Earn Your Bike Program has been made possible by the generosity of a caring and concerned community.

Earn Your Bike Program (EYBP) facilitates and encourages community involvement and public safety and has collaborated in conjunction with the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety, the Port of Oakland, and California State Parks.

Port of Oakland and California State Parks
The 2002 Angel Island Day Trips were made possible by a grant from the Port of Oakland and California State Parks programming.

State of California
The Earn Your Bike Program received a generous grant from the State of California in 2002, in order to facilitate and provide opportunities for children and youths, ages 10 through 18 years old, to earn bicycles, safety equipment, to learn the importance of bicycle safety, bicycle repair and the value of work by beautification of our natural resources.

Funding was provided by the generosity of a grant from the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety through the Business, Transportation and House Agency.

A Note of Appreciation
The City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation (OPR) would like to acknowledge, applaud and thank the active sponsors of EYBP for their noble efforts, continued support and collaboration. In appreciation of all the opportunities that benefit and enrich the quality of life for youths and families in Oakland, that may not have been possible, if not for your generosity. We simply couldn't have done it without your responsive and active involvement, level of committment, or consideration.

With a dedication of service and financial support to the children of Oakland, we are ensuring that no child goes without or is forgotten. Thank you for your continued support and active involvement in the Oakland community, it is much appreciated.

Community Involvement
In order to provide for all participants, we are asking for concerned and active community involvement, if you would like to get involved in this wonderful program by volunteering, to donate bicycles or bicycle safety equipment, or to become a sponsor, please contact the EYBP Program Coordinator.
