Feather River Camp Logo How would you like to go to camp with your kids?
Let us introduce you to beautiful Oakland Feather River Camp, where kids get to be kids and parents remember the joy of being kids again.

Imagine thousands of brilliant stars in the night sky, the calming sounds of rushing water, the stillness of a quiet morning, sunny blue-sky days, and children’s laughter. This is the essence of Oakland Feather River Camp where campers have returned, year after year and where lifelong friendships are created. It is a tranquil sanctuary that encourages community, connection, laughter, joy and a love of nature.

Many families today have not had the opportunity to get far enough away from the city to discover the charm, beauty and power of wilderness. One father said that while he and his family were at camp they spent more time together around the dinner table than they had done that entire year!

Accommodations include rustic wooden cabins or spacious wood-framed tent cabins, with or without electricity. Three fresh, sumptuous meals (including vegetarian options) are served daily and Lloyd’s famous barbeque is served every Friday night.

There are myriad ways to participate in the camp experience, including hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, river-tubing, ropes/challenge courses, photography, or horseback riding (with special age-specific activities each morning). As a group may be inclined, the camp encourages ping-pong tournaments, pick-up basketball or organized softball games.

After a day of fun, evening activities include campfire sing-a-longs, camper created skits, dancing on the veranda, astronomy (bring a telescope!), star gazing, or talent shows at the Starr Bowl Theater. These activities have graced Oakland Feather River Camp for 84 years and given great joy to many hearts and minds.
