National Recreation and Parks Month
Come Out and Play the OPR Way!

July is National Recreation and Parks month and the City of Oakland Office of Parks and Recreation is celebrating by hosting events throughout the City! There will be fun for the whole family! Festivities kick off with "Play Day on the Plaza" in front of Oakland City Hall on Friday, June 29 and the festivities will continue throughout the month of July.

Check out some NRPM highlights:
The Black Cowboys will sponsor a special Western Carnival at deFremery Recreation Center; young and old alike can test their skills in a special 3-on-3 basketball tournament at FM Smith Recreation Center; young artists from Oakland Fine Arts Summer School will host their Final Exhibit and Performance; swimming is free at designated City of Oakland pools in July; and there are open house events at all of the City's 24 Recreation Centers!
